Did you see the London fireworks? They were amazing in 10 minutes we blew up £1.8 million pounds.
Now I am aware that the taxpayers don’t pay for all of it, there are sponsorship involved, but still at a time when we have austerity being shoved down our throats, people are losing their homes due to inadequate flood defences, and record number of families had to rely on food banks for their Christmas meals.
Maybe rather than 10 minutes of oooooohhhh we could of done something different with that money
Totally agree! And this (sadly) happened all over the world.

Dubai apparently was the most expensive

Not really a surprise there. But I don’t like fireworks anyway and for me there are only a lot of disadvantages (also for the environment and (mental) health for people and animals).

Don’t get me started on effects they have on animals. Some idiots set off a load last night, my dog was terrified

It’s so sad and you know, I totally can’t blame the dogs to be so scary. I find them scary too and for them the sounds are even louder and everything. And people can tell me it’s this weird way people decided to celebrate the new year, so I shouldn’t be afraid, but we can’t really tell the dog that.
