I think everyone with children can relate to this
Dear Former Self,
We need to talk.
I am not sure how to break this to you. Like removing a band-aid, it is probably best to do this quickly. Not beat around the bush.
When your daughter turns three, she requests a Frozen-themed cake and wears a princess dress to her party.
Are you ok? Do you need to sit down? Can I get you a glass of water?
First things first: What is Frozen you ask? ONLY THE BEST DISNEY MOVIE EVER. (I should explain: most parents in the future disagree with you on that point. Just an FYI.)
No, seriously. It is a Disney movie that doesn’t entirely suck. It is a story about true love…BETWEEN SISTERS! #didn’tseethatonecoming. (Bonus: your amazing sister even makes a stunning cake featuring the movie’s protagonists. #Sistersforever.)

most welcome, I understood exactly where you are coming from, especially about the clothes situation. And have the reverse (I have a boy) so while he loves fireman sam, bob the builder. He also likes dressing up as a Princess

How awesome that you embrace all his interests, including princesses! Love it. I think in some ways it’s even harder for boys to venture outside the expected gender norms.

I do agree, but they are only children once and besides when he is a princess, I am a princess 🙂 Also when he is knight searching for a dragon I am also a princess, basically I get to be a princess

It really is, he has a very active imagination so at times, we can firemen and then a dragon appears so we have to change to knights. Lots of fun.
