I try and avoid bad stuff, I don’t like hearing that people have died for no reason, but I find that often it can’t be avoided and I am now starting to think that hate is getting worse.
Particuarlly racism, some of the things I see, sends chills through me. Things like, an article comes out about the concentration camps from world war 2 and people are putting that should be the place for refugees.
Did we not learn anything from either war?
I wonder how people got so ignorant and it makes me sad that this is the world I am bringing up my son.
Its good to be crazy Sometimes 
There will always be bad things and evil in the world. Just as there’s always love and people that do good. I don’t turn a blind eye but I do choose to focus on the positives. For me and for my kids.

Whilst we should never forget the atrocities of the world I also try to focus on the love and compassion that folk show for each other in times of need – there is good in this world – I still have hope for a safe future for my children x

I do wonder whether we hear more because of the bad because of techology

I’m sure that is a factor. Too many horrible and disturbing things available to view – that has to have an impact.

Yes, focus on the positives otherwise life will eat us up.. The wild is not in a good state — I don’t know if there will be a planet left when my child grows up. It is scary and makes me so angry. We need to care. Why do most not care?! The positives are we are here today with our children and we can change our own attitude which can only enrich our experience of life. If that makes sense?

“Has the world gotten worse?” I asked my grammy. “Are people more evil now than they used to be?”
I expected my grandmother to tell me that yes, the world was much worse than it had been when she was born in 1912. But Grammy shook her head firmly and said, “No. The world has always been this bad.”
I was in my twenties then and my grandmother was in her sixties. Today, I am in my sixties and my 23 year old granddaughter is in an anthropology graduate program at Harvard University. And today, almost four decades later, I agree with what my grandmother told me all those years ago.
No, the world has not gotten any worse, it has always been this bad. However, as several commenters have pointed out on the original post, there is just as much good in the world as there is evil. In fact, there is far more good than evil. Every single day, all over this planet, there are countless millions of people living quiet peaceful lives, doing what is right and good. These are people who love, people who care, people who work hard, people who are responsible, people who selflessly provide for their families. These are the people who encourage the downtrodden and give what they can to help the poor and needy.
There are countless random acts of kindness and mercy happening all around us, every day, all over this great big wonderful world. But we rarely hear about all the good things that are happening because, when it comes to the news media: “If It Bleeds, It Leads.”
I try every day, in my small way, to add a little goodness to the lives of those around me. This is how I fight against the darkness and evil. I count my blessings, I thank God for the many good things in my life, and I reach out and share some of the good that I have been given with others.
I also try not to read or watch the news very much, because what we focus on is what we see.
