Yes, I do the elf, yes I hate it, yes my son loves it, so yes I do this elf, but to be honest my son is only going to be little for a short while and he is only going to believe for an even shorter time. I am all for the belief of keeping your child a child for as long as possible. There is so much crap going on in the world, that children are growing up too quickly. Having said that, I still wish I had never have started this damn elf.
But here are so photos, so far of what our elf, Nestor has done. I forgot to take photos of a couple of them.
Day 1, he arrives with an advent calender, don’t get me started on expensive they have become.
Day 2, we found him trapped in the tumble dryer, God knows what he was trying to do, but it might have something to do with Day 3, when we found him in my son’s uniform.
Day 4, playing snap with some of the other toys. He was winning
Day 5, the cheeky sod got into my son’s underwear drawer and rather than do the decent thing and fold everything neatly, he went and redecorated the Christmas tree
For the record, I make these up on the night now, it depends on how I am feeling on what we are doing, the only one we do plan is the Christmas breakfast, which I can only assume that the tooth fairy would faint at. Although this year I am tempted to do it before school and let them deal with the sugar rush and the come down.
I remember when the elf on the shelf first came out. I don’t have children so I’m not very familiar with it, with how it works. For a little bit I Really thought the elf moved himself, like really. 😂

According to my son he does. Seriously give it ten years and the damn thing probably will, you might be able to get robot versions of them
