A bit late but never mind

I haven’t really written properly about Christmas or new year, so this post is all about that. I hope you all had an amazing festive time and got everything you all asked for. Santa this year didn’t bring me the millions of pounds I asked for, but maybe next year.

For Christmas day it was just myself, my partner and my son. After last year, when my son got up at 4am and opened all the presents, we had to keep insisting that he didn’t go downstairs without one or the other of us. I did debate hiding his presents, but I didn’t want him to get downstairs and think Santa hadn’t turned up. So it was a big sigh of relief when at 8am, he popped his head through the door and demanded to go downstairs. He had lots of lovely presents mainly all lego. We had made up a story for him about the sea patroller, and how M had helped Santa get it to him.

Christmas dinner, I was doing, because I am nuts.

We had prawns to start off with, then main was duck with orange, roast potatoes, carrots and pasnips. corn on the cob (my son wanted) cauliflower cheese, mashed suede, stuffing and peas with bacon and gravy. I had been careful with what we were having because I knew the dog was going to have some as well. He seemed to enjoy it. It may sound a lot (and it was) but I think the only thing was left was corn on the cob. The cats also enjoyed some duck and to be honest it was really good.

Pudding was fruit crumble, which my partner made. It was a good day, apart from having to start building lego.

Through out the rest of the week, we had Christmas dinner with my mum and then a few days later Christmas dinner with my dad.

New year was very quite, my son stayed up to watch the fireworks, and then we all got a lie in till 10am. I should let him stay up more often.

All in all it was a great Christmas
