Today in the UK its a bank holiday and its hot.
This is usually great, but monkey has got it in his head that he wants to go to the park. I am very relaxed with the whole when you can and can’t go out in the sun, but even I can figure taking a small child out in this heat at midday is a bad thing, that does mean that both him and the dog (who I am also refusing to take out till later) are driving me nuts.
I have shown them both the garden, explained that they can play there, its shady, its cool and there is a paddling pool and a trampoline and I can roll the ball for Max.
This is not good enough there needs to be for the child, a slide, climbing frames, swings and the dog wants me to throw the ball as far as possible so he can run for it.
Basically they want to die of heat exhaustion.
Being an adult and saying no sucks
Indeed it does π hope they’ll survive and you too π

It is and they don’t stop. Although we are going to try doing some homework for a little while, hopefully by the time we have done that it will be cool enough to take monkey to the park, but I can’t do anything with the dog till after 6ish

He just wants to go and chase his ball, he likes going and sniffing outside, but with the bank holiday comes everyone doing their gardens with loud machines, and he doesn’t do well with loud machines

Saying no might suck but at least you won’t be guilt-tripping yourself for allowing kiddo to get heat-stroke hey π Happy Bank Holiday π

Thats what I cling onto, I know what is going to happen, we did end up going to the park for half an hour, within 10 minutes he was red and sweaty. We went 3.30 and it was still boiling hot,

Wow!!! It was a crazy weekend for sure. I went for a walk in the park and came home exhausted. The heat was really too much. Hope you survived the weekend safely.

We did, but I agree with you Monday was hot, we went to the park for half an hour, we were going to go for longer, but after 10 minutes monkey was bright red and sweating like anything. Despite how much he was drinking
