Along with the moves, I have also had to keep an eye on what is happening with my PIP (disability allowance.) The simple answer is sweet fuck all

I was promised it would be less than 6 weeks, that was 8 weeks ago, then as I was sorting out the paperwork, I came to the very uncomfortable realisation that as soon as I get it sorted, as long as it is before Christmas, then I will be starting the fight again for ESA. I don’t know if I have the energy for it to be honest.

I have on a few occassions thought about dropping the PIP appeal, for those that are just catching up, its been 14 months since I appealed the decision to take away my disability payments, which is about average, what is not average about my journey, is that I have had 2 tribunal hearings booked, dates given and then had them postponed, the first one was due to a tribunal member not being available, the second one, I managed to find a babysitter, (monkeysitter) get all the way to the court, sit there for an hour and a half, and then got told to go home again as they had run out of time.

You could say I was slightly pissed of with that. It would be an understatement to say it I must admit.

I am also having an argument with the council over my housing benefit, the UK have introduced a new benefit system called universal credit, on paper it is a great idea, but our government being what it is, they have well and truly fucked it up. Very simply, its where a large amount of the benefits you get, goes into one payment at the start of the month, this saves you time, by not having to call 2-6 different departments to give them the same information, you are not getting dribbles of money at different times, it will make it easier to budget, so a real improvement on the system we have now. Well it would be if it worked, families are being left without any money for 6 weeks and longer, the politicians way of dealing with this is to say, if you know you are going on it, save some money. The problem with that is if you can’t afford to save anything, then you are sure as shit not suddenly going to find 6 weeks worth of money in a short timeframe.

Anyway back to my argument, I need the council to have redone any changes before the 1st November, because if they don’t and do it afterwards, we get shifted to universal credit, with little or no notice and given how pissed off I am with the government about benefits this would just be the icing on the cake for me.
