I have been thinking, so I am still up and down like a yoyo, but generally I think I am ok and I need to continue thinking about the future.
I have been thinking about jobs again.
I am 30 something and still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, my ideal job would be to work with animals, however I now have all this knowledge about the benefit system, council house, grants, trusts, charities, mental health, sorting out debts, budgeting the list goes on and I don’t mean to brag but I am pretty damn good with this knowledge.
With this, I have come up with a job for myself advocating and supporting those with mental health problems to deal with this shit, because it is stressful dealing with all of this shit and it often goes hand in hand with each other.
I have no idea where to go from here though, there are certain places such as the CAB who I could volunteer with, MIND is another charity that would deal with this.
Its something to look into certainly, I think the first part of next year is going to be volunteering and trying to get myself in the work frame of mind.
This then brings to my mind this blog, I started this blog to try and bring awareness to mental health problems and the challenges people face with the UK benefit system, it has evolved to me talking shit most the time. I am unsure whether to continue that, or just stop blogging, especially if I am going to have less time. I am not sure on this one. Again something to think about
volunteering is a great idea if you are not sure what sort of job you wish to have. So far as the blog, keep it up, even if on a reduced writing schedule. You have a huge support system within your followers and readers.

Thanks Suze, I would probably drop to posting a few times a week if I continued it

Good luck in what you choose. I am sort of in the same place but without your gift of youth.

I agree with both lovely ladies above… I think volunteering is a good idea, especially if you can help others with the knowledge you built up beating your way through the system! I hope you’ll keep the blog going, even if you don’t post as often, it would be sad to see it coming to an end! *big hugs*

Thanks Cyranny, I am more thinking out loud at the minute, as I have learnt nothing is certain, and you still might win that lottery

Most of us have no idea what we want to be when we grow up, and I am much older than you. Even if we start off with a clear idea, more so than not that idea changes as we change.

This is very true, but by now I was hoping for an idea

I have often wanted to volunteer, but my social anxiety always gets in the way (if my physical health doesn’t get in the way first). I try to think of my online presence as a kind of “volunteering”. I try to support others and hopefully make them feel like someone cares.

You could be a great help to people learning the system you now know so well, as a volunteer or paid worker! I’d miss you if you stopped blogging. Hope we’ll see you a few times a week at least. : ) Rebecca

Thanks Rebecca, I am not sure how to go about it, but I have been lucky in the fact I have had a great support system and knowledgable people round me, and I know that others don’t have this
