I haven’t written anything about mental health week, which for a mental health blog, must seem a bit weird.
I am not sure how to explain it, but I don’t like it. I want people to talk about mental health as though it was a cold. It should be a normal thing to talk about and having a week dedicated to mental health, with all the celebrities coming out and talking about means that it is not.
It means we still have a lot of work to do. That is why I don’t really write about it, it should be talked about every day, not just one week a year, people can suffer with mental health for years. I have never once heard of someone suffer for just a week. I hope it helps people I really do, but come Monday, we will go back to not highlighting something that affects 1 in 4 people.
