I love spending time with monkey, but sometimes he can really push my buttons. The best way I have found dealing with this is by laughing maybe not at him, but certainly certain phrases he comes out with, I tend to put on facebook. Here are a couple of what I have had to deal with
Me: Monkey if you continue talking to me with that attitude, I will stop playing
Monkey: WHAT ATTITUDE?
I stopped playing with him, till he calmed down.
Me: Monkey go have a bath
Monkey: But I don’t want a bath, why do you always force me to do things I don’t want to.
Me: Fine, don’t have a bath.
Monkey: I WANT A BATH
Me: You are not getting your laptop back till the lounge is cleared.
Monkey: Please mummy, I will do anything
Me: Go and clean the lounge
Monkey: But not that
I feel like I am in a meatloaf video
Hmm next time I’m writing down what Eagle says! I relate to all three dialogues above.

That is exactly what it is, he is trying to be independent without knowing what that means.
I have to go shopping tomorrow and he thinks I can leave him behind at home by himself.
