The Brexit Weekend Share #118

on the 31st January 2020 the UK will leave the EU, whether you voted for or against leaving I think we can all agree it has been a massive shit storm and god knows what is going to happen now, whether you believe the Brexiteers that it is going to be fantastic and we will be free to do what we want or whether you believe the remainers that everything is about to go to pot (including losing the union of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England) we might as well celebrate or commiserate this historic event. Any reason for a party.

If you have never done this before, give it a go, you lose maybe 30 seconds of your life adding a link and you never know who might see it, I will, my mum probably will, so its well worth it.

As everything is life there are rules, if you are new or just need reminding here they are

Rules are very simple,

  1. You can share up to five links
  2. They can be a post, your blog, someone elses post or blog
  3. You can comment on here from now till 11.30pm on Friday evening (GMT time)
  4. I shall start sharing on Saturday till 11.30pm Sunday (GMT time)
  5. It can be anything you want, however I will have final say if I think its is classed as an ism (racism, sexism etc)

If you would like to tweet, share, or reblog and get more people involved then go for it. Otherwise donโ€™t be shy, you have nothing to lose by sharing something.

So if you have a post that you want more exposure, or maybe even your blog. Maybe you have seen someone elses post and thought I need to get that out, then share it. Its all a good giggle.

Just to add on this, donโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t follow me, just add a link, I love reading new blogs, you will still get approved (as long as you have followed the rules) and then reblogged, so if you have taken a look at my blog and thought, not something I am interested, well you are weird, but thats your choice, but your blog or link might interest another one of my followers.

Now that I have flagrantly promoted myself…

Could someone educate this American on what all this Brexit controversy is about? I mean, I read, a lot, but it’s gobblegook, I need it dumbed down, so to speak. What are the benefits of exiting the union? What are negatives/potential negatives? I am interested in hearing from people who are affected by this whole thing. Perhaps this not the proper forum to ask, but if anyone would like to reply, you can always just leave a comment on my blog and save the space here.

Otherwise, I look forward to meeting new blogs and their writers and hope maybe a couple of you will find my stuff interesting (or weird enough) to take a peek. ::)

    • Thank you for sharing.

Right Brexit. There are, as far as I can tell very little benefits in leaving. I will concede that the EU is corrupt and rotten, so that is one reason as to why we leave, we pay a lot of money to be in it, but in return we do get to travel, study and work in 27 different countries without having to fill in visas. The EU do set certain laws, but in my eyes they actually improve our quality of life, such as the pesky human rights laws, workers rights. You may have heard the famous phrase of leaving the EU means ยฃ350 million pounds extra to the NHS, that turned out to be complete bollocks, the very basic of it is, if we become independent from the EU then we don’t have to accept as many immigrants as we have been doing and we can make our own trade deals with other countries rather than rely on the EU to make those for us. For me being in the EU the positives outweigh the negatives, but I am willing to be proved wrong on it. The main thing you have to remember is that for us nothing actually changes till December, while we have officially left we are still under the EU rules till December, its then that we shall start seeing the effects.

Oh,ok, thanks for explaining it to me. I’ve been reading about it for months from journalist perspectives but it’s good to hear from someone it will directly impact. I consider myself more informed now.

      • No problem, in truth no on knows what is going to happen, so its just strap in for the ride and hope we are not screwed too badly and everyone who voted out is right and we will be better off

    Hello Trina,
Hope to distract you, if only for a moment from politics in the UK. I present you with two fabulous Latina artists, one creates food and the second literature. Also, a quick peek at a gorgeous tropical flower from Latin America housed here in Madison. Thanks for hosting the share, I enjoy the community’s posts. Best wishes, Rebecca
