Mental health, Corona and Me

In this mad time, it is more important than ever to reach out to people, especially those with mental health problems.

Me, on the other hand is fine, nothing has changed much in my world, other than Monkey being at home, its weird watching it all on the news and people screaming about social distancing and I am sitting here going this is my normal.

But, not all people are weird like me and I can imagine for a lot of people the unknown is an anxious time, people are worried and scared and that is a breeding ground for mental health problems.

My immediate family are all in the at risk file, so I am calling them daily just to say hello. None of them live on their own, whether that is a good thing at the end of this I am not sure.

The other thing to be aware of, is domestic violence, I think isolation is going to increase it, and while you are never sure what is going on behind closed doors, if you have an inkling someone might be at risk, let them know you are there.

So, take this time to reach out to someone in your life and just check they are ok, it will take less time than reading this post.

What a good point you’ve raised. We never do know what’s going on behind closed doors.
