Is there such a thing as too much garlic.
I now think there is, after making shepards pie last night, I decided to chuck in a bit of garlic granuals, nearly half a jar later, I can say its probably too much garlic.
My other half on the other hand thinks that because there was half a jar left, its not too much.
What do you think?
As an Italian Aussie who loves garlic I can say you can NEVER have too much of the stuff!! Love it. 😂

I’ve only eaten too much garlic once in my life, at the Stinking Rose in San Francisco. I ate a whole clove of garlic as an appetizer then proceeded to more garlic in each dish after that…

I had to google that, but I assumed what it might be based on its name, I need to take my partner there

I think he would, he can add it to his growing list of resturants he wants to visit

I would say sushi, he loves seafood as well, but he will eat anything other than curry

Yes, you can have too much. I find raw garlic too harsh, so always use (home-made) garlic confit in my recipes. There are times when you want to taste it and times when it should just be a background note.

I normally use garlic cloves, but this time I just wanted to add a little flavour at the end, it did go wrong

Hey! I has the same issue with my bf who refused eat some of my soups, coz he could smell ‘too much garlic’ – I looked it up, and found out if you squeeze some lemon juice in the food, the smell will be gone! It completely neutralises it! 🙂

Thanks for that, I will remember if I ever tip that much garlic in again

You’re very welcome! It works perfectly and the food doesn’t taste lemony afterwards 🙂

I am sure it will happen again, so will keep that information for when it does. 🙂
