The way the clues are worded is not something many 8 year olds would be familiar with. Families where English is a second language could have real problems with this too.
I love word puzzles and crosswords but at 48 even I could only figure out the tartan clue. Oh and 5 down just came to me. Spank. But Magnificent Appearance???? What does that mean? Ganghis Khan in his wild woolies or The Queen during a Royal Ceremony and she has to be dressed to the 9’s. I am interested to know..

Nah, I’ve never bee able to do word puzzles…….but this one does look well out of the range of an 8 year old.!!
