They actually started a few days ago with the football, but I am not too fussed with the football and the hassel to try and find where I can watch it on line, but as of today, its being shown on mainstream tv.
Just have to decide what I want to watch and how. Although I do dislike it, when they are held in countries with a time zone ahead of me, for some reason I struggle with whats on when and staying up, but I am going to attempt it anyway. I dont need sleep for two weeks. Then I can chill for a few days and then the paraolympics starts and I love watching that as well, although I see these amazing humans and what they achieve and just think, I couldn’t be bothered to go for a walk the other day because it was a wee bit too hot.
I have my fingers crossed that everything will go ok for all the altheletes, Team GB has already had 8 (I think) people taken out, after coming into contact with someone who has Covid on the flight out, I know that the Czech team have had 4 people test positive, probably also caught on the flight out.
There is only so much limiting contact they can all do, especially with contact sports. Just got my fingers crossed they will all be alright, I think I read somewhere as soon as there sport is over, then they have to return back to their country.
Lets hope this doesn’t mean Covid comes back for a 4th or 5th wave again.

I really enjoy watching the sailing at the Olympics. I have no interest in it for years and then when the Olympics come around again, I’m hooked on it.

I have to say I do like the eventing element of the equestrian events, not so much the dressage or jumping though!

Aye, it does seem a bit outdated for the modern Olympics due to the risk to the animals, but it’s somewhat of a ‘posh’ event so I expect it’ll stay for a good while.

I have always enjoyed the Olympics, more events like Hockey, Track, Gymnastics, and the more “original” games. I love America, but I love the America that became through the Revolutionary War, as difficult as those times were, and as difficult it was for the founding fathers to unite a people from all over the world with different views. I still remember the bicentennial fireworks my dad took us to, so little we were. With time, I learned more about the foundations of this country. It’s amazing that this country ever became, yet the people believed. And that so many worked so hard, that we went through two world wars, men and others dying for freedom and to end tyranny. **In watching the Olympics, I find difficult to watch any U.S. team with members that don’t salute our flag, don’t embrace our history (The good and the difficulties, which gave rise to more good, sometimes eventually.), and don’t realize how amazing their opportunities are as a result of America becoming and all the men and women who made this possible. I tried to watch the U.S. Women Soccer team, but after 10 minutes, knowing players don’t appreciate America, not prideful in the real Constitutional America, I changed the station. To me, the Olympics are about nations competing, each nation vying to be the best in healthy competition. Pride in America (Healthy Pride) is how we should approach the Olympics.

Thats a bit of a cop out answer, especially when its about what you think, not what google tells me, so I assume its about the fact they took the knee? To me that is not disrespecting your country that is saying there is still a problem within our country.

The moment you said “cop out”, I realized no true effort at understanding exists here, with the article writer, and for 2 reasons: 1) Any honest person, if they followed sports, the Olympics, and women’s soccer just a tiny bit, knows what I’m talking about, and 2) Again, any honest person, with what I shared, could look it up. What the effort here, strongly seems to be, is to get the responder to “say it,” then befuddle the person by saying things like that’s not anti-. And if I’m right, and I am, to continue with thinly veiled barbs, perhaps sounding truly engaging, but not. And so, like I tell others when I don’t see a real conversation in the making, we share, then leave, allowing readers to think for themselves. **If there’s another barb coming, others will have to read it for me.

When someone wants to make a point, they should make it not tell people to go google. That doesn’t tell what you think, that tells me what google thinks. So yes it is a cop out answer, I can make a lot of assumptions based on what you have said, but assuptions are as about as useful as a chocolate teapot

I hope the writer looks for real information, thoughtful, and engages honestly when realizing the whole world doesn’t agree with him/her. And yes, there’s only two choices. First of all, I am a she. One quick look around my blog would tell you that, indicating that you have come here without even the courtesy of checking what this blog might be about. The other thing that it will tell you is that I am based in the UK. Telling someone to Google something when you are in different parts of the world is not useful. It may shock you to realise that the search results produced here are vastly different to than what would come up if I were in the US.
I have had to assume that you are referring to “taking the knee”, however I can’t be sure as you have been so deliberately vague.
I haven’t actually expressed my opinion on taking the knee, nothing I have said has given any indication to my views on the subject.
You have assumed that I support it. Along with that you have also assumed my views on sex/gender. “To assume” as the saying goes…
You are right about one thing though, this is my blog. I have chosen not to ban you from it simply because I believe in people being able to give their point of view. Even though you have refused to do so.
