The summer holiday is upon us, of course for us, it started on Tuesday, because Monkey was off ill, he is still not 100% and he still has this damn cough.
But, I have already said the end of the week is going to be fairly chilled, so that is what he is expecting, despite the fact the last two days have been very chilled.
He has summer club for three weeks, so that leave me with 3 weeks to do things with him, one of those my partner is off for.
Leaving me with 2 weeks. Depending on weather is going to depend on what we do I think, I need to get him out for at least a couple of hours a day, I am hoping I can arrange a few things with friends
Or, we are at that awkward cross roads, where he can organise things with friends, but I have to still ferry him to places.
We are also going to be working on a few things he wants to learn, such as tying his shoe laces properly, tying his tie. (very fun things) and my most important thing is going to drill into him is road safety, he is still like a toddler and will not stop look and listen when we come to a road.
Thats the plan anyway, lets see how it goes.
Monkey is your son?

Yes, he is 10 and got his nickname from when he was a toddler, being the kid who would be half way up the tree when you blinked, he hasnt changed much, if he can climb it he will

That’s a lot to teach a child, it’s really frustrating when they don’t have any road sense.

Its like hitting my head against a brick wall, but I prefer that than a car hitting him, a lot of time, energy and money has gone into getting him to 10

I know this is the thing isn’t it? One doesn’t want all that to be wasted 😂😂

No, I dont have life insurance on him either, so I am not going to be able to recoup

So many questions to get life insurance on a 10 year old, much less for my partner and easier to do

I’m now sure how that would be taken, it’s like the partner doesn’t matter as much… Like meh, yeah he’s going.

I know what you mean about the friend get togethers and the road sense or lack thereof so common in tweens! Has he been tested for covid recently?

We have done a couple of tests on him and they have come back negative, he has isolated and while he could have gone back in today, I would rather not risk him passing on covid to any of the families going abroad.

Odd about the tests. Very thoughtful of you to keep him home.
