Where in the World: Denmark

Now, this is a country I do know a fair bit about, but that is due to my lovely friend Cyranny who is very much in love with this country and a fantastic comedian here in the UK called Sandi Toksvig, lets see if I can find out anything I dont know

  1. Denmark, lies southwest of Sweden and south of Norway and north of Germany, when you talk about Denmark, this also includes Greenland and the Faroe Islands
  2. They have an unofficial law called Janteloven which is basically no one person is better than any other
  3. I am going to have to put this in here, but incase you dont know Lego was invented here.
  4. There is no word for please in their language
  5. Denmark is the happiest country in the world, it is the largest consumers of anti depressentants, take from that what you will
  6. The mermaid statue in Denmark harbour is very famous, however she has been deciapted at least twice, had one of her arms chopped off and someone once swam out to put a dildo in her hand
  7. When the Prussians invaded Denmark, they banned all Danish symbols, so the Danes bred pigs with markings that look like the Danish Flag. They are called Protest Pigs
  8. You may have seen the tv show The Bridge, which is based on the Oresund Bridge, a 10 mile bridge connect Sweden with Denmark, its a combination of motorway, railway, a man made island and a 4km tunnel
  9. If you like fine food, a visit to Copenhagen should make you happy, they have more michelln star resturants than any other city in Scandinavia
  10. The Danes love their music, but the Danish String Quartet is considered one of the best in the world, enjoy
