I know a little bit about this country, but mainly what has been on the news in recent years, I am going to try and look past that, not because its not important, but because I know this is a country rich in history

- Afghanistan is a landlocked country, its is boarded by Pakistan to the south and the east, Iran to the west, Turkmenistan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the north, Tajikistan to the northeast and China to the east

- Its national game is buzkashi or goat grabbing, they want it to be an Olympic sport. It involves horse riders grabbing a goats carcass and gallop clear of the others to drop it in a chalked circle.
- Poetry is important, their stories are often told in verse and in Herat, on a Thursday night, its poetry night and people gather to share their poems
- In 2016, there was only one pig in Afghanistan called khanzir and he lived in the zoo, I cant find out if he is still alive, but maybe
- Back in the 1500s Emperor Zahīr ud-Dīn Muhammad built 10 gardens, his favourite the Garden of Babur was where he wished to be burried and he is
- Afghans celebrate their new year on the 21st March, the Nauruz celebration lasts for about 2 weeks
- Afghan Air Force 2nd Lieutenant Niloofar Rahmani made history by becoming the first female pilot in 2013

It would be a much better place if there wasn’t a war that happened. A lot of the countries similar to that are so interesting cultural but it’s always something happening.

I agree and not only that but so much is destroyed, not only things, but people with the oral stories as well

It’s sad when cultures disappear or go extinct, however, it’s likely that cultures will evolve or create new ones. Their culture will prevail somehow and if it won’t, I’m sure it’ll form into something great. 🙂
