My heart broke a little

This evening, just as Monkey was going to bed, he said my friend has gotten his advent calandar today, to start opening tomorrow.

Now, I went, oh, I am so sorry I forgot to get one (I hadnt)

Monkey went, oh does that mean I am not getting the pokemon one I asked for

Me: Oh monkey at this rate, I am going to be lucky to get a chocolate one, but I will do my best

Monkey: Oh, ok then, it doesnt really matter

But his little face had dropped massively and he was so sad, but trying to put a brave face on it, it really did break my heart and I couldnt let him go to sleep like that.

I got his advent calendar out early, I was going to leave it in his room for him to wake up to, the pure joy in his face when he saw his new pokemon advent calendar, I very much doubt its going to last all the way up to Christmas without him having peeked behind all the doors.
