This post is two fold. Firstly, I may have mentioned I am a massive fan of masterchef Australia.
But a couple of days ago, there was a team challenege, where the cooks were seperated into teams of five. Given an open pantry, and each cook had fifteen minutes to cook. Sounds simple right? The twist on it, was the team were seperated and so didn’t know what the cooks infront of them were cooking,
So Chef one would decide the dish, start preparing it in the fifteen minutes, and then he would have 45 seconds to explain what he had done to Chef 2 and so on.
One of the teams started off with a coconut and mussle broth, which is nice and simple and very easy to pass on what was going on. BUT BUT John (one of the contestants) came in and decided sod that and changed the nice easy simple dish into lobster with a white chocolate veloute. He threw his team under a bus and then reversed back over them.
The poor lady at the end had five minutes to get a dish together, she managed to get something on the plate, but that team got sent to elimination John, didnt stand up and vote himself off. Nop, He took his whole team to the elimination challange and Jarod (who was the team captain) got sent home instead.
Anyway that is my outrage of the week (The Apprentice has started as well, so expect posts on that)
I have mentioned that one of the reasons why I enjoy watching Mastercehf Australia is for the reciepes, And I spotted a Butternut Pumpkin Soup with Smoked Parsnip Cream and Parsnip Chips, it looked amazing, so tonight I shall be making this.
I will let you know how it goes 🙂
Hope everyone is having a great weekend

He was very sad, but ultimatly that means bugger all. Personally I think he should of gone, but he did produce a better dish in the elemination challange

I love Masterchef Australia. I’ve seen the UK, USA and Portuguese Version but the Australia one is the one dear to my heart. 🙂

I have seen the South African, Canadian and the New Zealand one, but I do love the Australian one, it just seems so much more friendly and I love all the judges

The judges are great and the contestants (with the exception of season 5 for me) are all so nice and friendly. They get along so good, even though they all want to win. It makes me want to go Australia to meet these nice easy-going people 🙂

I don’t think I have seen season 5. I want to go and meet Shannon Bennet and Curtis Stone.
Although I think this is the first time I realised how many great chefs came out of Marco Pierre White’s kitchen

And don’t you just love Georgia? She’s such a lifesaver, I love her so much! And the elimination sucked. 😦

I have to admit I was screaming at the tv as well, I just couldn’t believe it. I think if Georgia has had a couple more minutes for those prawns they might not of gone into the eliminations
