I have a big favour to ask from you all. A friend of mine has a child in nursery and they are asking for a letter.
If you can’t read it the basic of it, is that the children ages 3-5 are learning about different places in the UK and around the world. They are making gingerbread men and one of those naughty gingerbread men is going to escape and run away.
So the favour? They would like people from anywhere in the world to send them a postcard or a letter and write on the words “run run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man”
And send it to
All the boy and girls at
Park Drive Nursery
Park Drive
Bannockburn
Stirling
FK7 0EH
As the postcards and letters arrive they are going to talk about the country and the food so it links to what they are learning about it. I think it is an amazing idea, for us in the UK we are often insular and don’t learn enough about other countries (or other languages but that is a whole different rant)
If any of you would mind sending a little postcard (try to avoid rude ones) or a letter with those words on it, that would be amazing.
Just for the record this is not one of those things you see on facebook with I am teaching my class how far a message can go on social media type post, which never make sense to me. This is just getting a postcard from a gingerbread man who is exploring the world and its food.
I will work on this. I am so glad you asked… 🙂

What a great idea! I’ll repost this on my blog. In middle and high school I had penpals from all over the world. It was such an amazing experience! I’ll definitely send one! 😁

😊 it’s great. It has me thinking about trying to find penpals for my kids

I am actually finding it harder and harder to find penpals now a days, there use to be groups you could write to, but now everyone does it over email, I think its more exciting to get a letter in the post

I agree! There has to be something out there….Or some way we could start something.

I used one of my photos of the Castillo de San Marcos fort in St. Augustine and placed a gingerbread figure on the wall near a lookout tower overlooking Matanzas Bay and the Bridge of Lions in the background. I printed the image on a card and plan to send on Tuesday. I wonder if I should send a letter in an envelope with the card so an explanation can be provided about the fort, including some of the history and the foods they typically ate in 1695, when the fort was built by the Spanish and served as a fort as well as a castle.

I think that would be amazing, I think the staff are probably going to be using google alot, so a little help would go far.
I just had to google the fort and that place looks amazing
