For those of us in the UK we have junior doctor strikes, I think they have just finished for this round and we will see what happens next.
I live near a fairly big hospital and so when myself and my son went to walk the dog, we saw lots of people hanging out.
My son wanted to know what they were doing, trying to explain something to a four year old that you don’t have a great understanding of is difficult. However, I was up for the challenge and informed him that they were trying to protect the people who couldn’t help themselves, which is a stretch, but to someone who doesn’t understand the concept of money and long hours it was the best I could.
My son thought on this long and hard and decided the best thing we could do to help was to bring them coffee, cause mummy and daddy have coffee at this time. (8am) There was no way I was bringing out 40 odd cups of coffee, so I suggested biscuits which he was thrilled with.
So we put stacks of biscuits on a plate and he went up to all these doctors and offered them. I am not sure they wanted them, but you can’t refuse a child trying to be helpful.
He makes me so proud
Sounds like a compassionate little boy. Good for him! 🙂

It probably meant far more to the doctors than you think. It isn’t the biscuit, it is the fact that someone cared.

I know, I am really proud of him, we also got his school report which was amazing as well. He is doing good with things like numbers and letters but more importantly to me, he gets on well with the other children, encourages them to play and always shares

That’s wonderful! You are a good mom. The little ones learn from observation first, and you are setting a good example for him, which will be instilled in him forever. Great Job!
