I think I have figured out how to help.

As someone with mental health problems, I do my best to avoid triggers and try and do what I can to get myself into a good mental space to continue to improve, so I can get a job, get back out in wide world.

Having said that, as someone on benefits who has to deal with the DWP, I know full well dealing with the fuckers, is one thing that sends my anxiety into massive overdrive, which has a negative affect on everything else.

Try not to make it as stressful for people, I get that is tough, but there are a few things you can do, such as when telling people they have been accepted for PIP, understanding they might be overwhelmed, but make sure they have a number, they can ring to get all the information they need.

Don’t send them 9 emails all saying the same thing, which is basically, we have made a decision on your tribunal, but we can’t tell you what it is over email, we have sent you a letter instead.

Make sure that the systems are updated with the correct information, therefore when something strange happens, like, for an example, money is put into the claimaints account, the only number she has that she can ring and wait on hold for 40 minutes, that person will be able to fucking tell her what is going on, therefore not making the poor person on the other end of the phone tell her to ring back again on Thursday or Friday, making her have to wait for another 24 flipping hours.

These are just my small suggestions that might make claiming for PIP a wee bit less stressful
